Midland Care Home is a beautiful care home in Wellingborough. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care and service to the people living here. We are a purpose-built care home that cares for up to 60 individuals with different levels of care needs. We are looking for an individual to join our Head of Departments team, leading our large team of ancillary staff, including housekeeping staff, laundry staff, and maintenance. We expect hotel style standards here at Midland and therefore require somebody that will continue to lead the way towards this level of service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise your staff team ensuring adequate cover in the various departments.
- Produce weekly rotas for the departments.
- Manage, supervise, and work alongside a team of ancillary staff and induct new members of the team.
- Ensure scheduled and general repairs, renovations, maintenance, refurbishments, and decoration requirements are actioned and completed.
- Conduct regular walk about inspections of the home to identify maintenance or improvement needs and address them promptly.
- Ensure all areas of your departments are fully stocked.
- Meet with the Manager daily to feedback on your departments and take instruction of anything that is needed urgently, for example getting a bedroom ready at short notice for somebody to move in to.
- Regular linen/crockery and care items stocktake, and order as needed.
- Identify and action any areas that may need renovation, cleaning or fixing to maintain highest service standards.
- Ensure all audits/cleaning schedules/temperature checks/equipment checks are documented and ready to be seen at any time by regulators.
- Prepare vacant bedrooms into show rooms ready for people to move in to.
- Completion of weekly compliance checks such as fire alarm, emergency lights, and water temperature.
