The Midland Hotel Manchester is looking for an experienced Venue Director. As a Venue Director, you will lead and inspire your team to optimise sales, profitability and guest service. You will have a structured approach with appropriate focus on compliance with relevant company policies, standards and employment principles. You will look after the strategic planning of all retail (food and beverage) for the venue.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review competitor activity and market trends which may impact our operation and make suggestions to evolve.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of consistent and exceptional product quality and service standards.
- Oversee and ensure that all services within remit are ready for operation at specific times and to the agreed standard.
- Drive our guest focus culture through demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of hospitality standards and client needs.
- Regularly monitor and develop each department to ensure food quality, presentation, staffing reviews and consistent standards are maintained.
- Lead the Health & Safety culture and compliance across the venue.
- Brand, operate and further develop consistently high brand standards within each area.
- Champion the guest-focused culture, continually sharing and acting on customer feedback.
- Work closely with the management team to develop and sustain a high level of team energy and engagement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and talent management/succession planning activity.
- Oversee and drive the training plan and activity with your team.
- Ensure effective team communication flows throughout the venue.
- Recognise and celebrate success.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure adherence to all legal obligations.
- Be financially accountable for all costs and profitability of the venue.
- Frequent review of performance statistics to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure competent levels of commercial understanding and awareness through Line Managers and their teams.
