Job Overview

Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators/Labourers to join the team at our Mayton Wood site. The role involves operating plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level, along with any other duties necessary for the day-to-day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
  2. Perform daily/weekly maintenance tasks on the mobile & fixed plant, including greasing and cleaning the equipment.
  3. Report any defects noted to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
  4. Dispatch and control the quality of the product.
  5. Follow plant GPS to alter the ground to the required levels.
  6. Perform any other duties related to the Quarry as requested by a supervisor/manager.
  7. Accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit weekly.
  8. Log all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and ensure documentation is correct.
  9. Inform quarry management of any unsuitable materials for production.
  10. Understand company procedures related to breakdowns to act swiftly to minimize downtime.
  11. Highlight any training requirements to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
  12. Conduct oneself in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others.
  13. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
  14. Ensure a good standard of site cleanliness to minimize potential hazards.
  15. Regularly communicate with site management.

Skills/Qualifications

  1. A full UK driving licence.
  2. Experience on either Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (5 years experience).
  3. A hard-working nature.
  4. Experience with GPS (machine control).
