Mick George Group is currently recruiting an Estimator to join the Contracting department.
Location: Mick George Head Office - Huntingdon
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose:
To manage tendering of projects, maximising the tendered margin whilst looking at potential value engineering and successfully winning projects.
Responsibilities:
- To actively tender projects that are received by the business
- To be aware of contractual terms and potential risks to the business
- To review all information received to understand the scope of works to be tendered
- To submit tenders on time to the clients' requirements
- To accurately measure relevant works to derive/validate quantities for pricing purposes
- To build up tender rates from first principles on a labour, plant and material basis
- To consider potential value engineering opportunities to offer to clients
- To obtain market rates for subcontracted works
- To respond to clients queries in a timely manner
- To understand programme and buildability constraints within a tender
- To be responsible for the handover meeting of secured work by passing information to the delivery team
- To maintain client relationships
- To seek opportunities for new and continued work
- To provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team
- Always conduct themselves in a professional manner as an ambassador of Mick George Group
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- 3-5 years' experience in estimating bulk earthworks and civils works
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks
- A pro-active team member
- Basic computer literacy (use of emails, etc.)
- Experience in ConQuest and Maximiser CRM (Desirable)
