Here at the Mick George Group, we are currently recruiting a Commercial Manager – Waste Services to join the Recycling team.
Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon & Field Based
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, Saturdays as Required.
Pay: To be discussed at Interview, dependant on experience.

At the Mick George Group, we’re seeking a Commercial Manager – Waste Services to drive new business growth and strengthen our position as a leading provider of Total Waste Management solutions.
Covering Huntingdon and the surrounding areas, you’ll build lasting client relationships while delivering tailored waste solutions – from wheelie bins and skips to RoRos, FELs, and recycling services.

Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales
- Proactively generate new business through prospecting, networking, and tendering
Account Management & Retention
- Retain and grow a portfolio of accounts through strong, long-term relationships
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify upselling or service expansion opportunities
- Provide ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewals
Market & Industry Engagement
- Keep up-to-date with waste management legislation, recycling trends, and competitor activity
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums to generate leads and raise brand awareness
- Advise customers on best practice in recycling and resource recovery
Operational Collaboration
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Provide feedback on performance to improve customer experience
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and case studies showcasing successful partnerships
Commercial & Reporting
- Maintain accurate pipeline reports, forecasts, and CRM records
- Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations and tender submissions
- Negotiate contract terms that balance customer value with company profitability
- Promote the full suite of Total Waste Management services
- Develop tailored proposals that deliver value, compliance, and sustainability
- Assess potential jobs to ensure compliance and obtain waste data for accurate quoting
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Proven experience in waste management sales (wheelie bins, FELs, skips, RoRos, commodities) or a related sector
- Strong track record of winning, retaining, and growing key accounts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Commercial acumen, with experience in negotiation and closing deals
- A self-motivated, target-driven approach, comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- A passion for sustainability and delivering innovative, ethical waste management solutions
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service internally and externally
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills
- Clear written communication skills, capable of producing high-quality correspondence and reports
- Full UK driving licence
