Shore Medical, a GP Super Partnership of six practices, is recruiting an Associate GP to its primary care team. The post covers the full range of GP services, from face-to-face and telephone consultations and home visits to care navigation, with a varied caseload that includes undifferentiated and complex needs. The role is a higher-level one: the holder takes ownership of urgent operational issues, deputises for partners and mentors clinical and administrative staff. Fit turns on MRCGP, GMC registration and inclusion on the performers list.
What the job involves
- Deliver full GP services: surgery and telephone consultations, home visits and care navigation
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute, chronic and undifferentiated needs across a varied, complex caseload
- Prescribe safely, check and sign repeat prescriptions, develop care plans and refer onward
- Provide senior clinical leadership, take ownership of urgent operational issues and oversight of care, and deputise for GP Partners
- Support, mentor and advise clinical and administrative staff
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement and the development of new models of care
- Meet the agreed list of 300 patients per session under the core GMS contract and enhanced services
- Work to the practice timetable, handling queries, paperwork and correspondence promptly
- Make autonomous clinical decisions on self-referred and referred problems
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, supporting health promotion and disease management
- Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes on System One
What’s required
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- MRCGP
Registration & licences
- GMC registration
- Inclusion on the Performers List
- MPS, MDUS or MDDUS membership
Experience
- Experience working within a UK GP practice
- Experience of primary care in an area with significant health problems
- Experience of EPS prescribing
