Permanent Learning Support Assistant post at Paignton Academy, split between its Borough Road and Waterleat Road sites. The role gives individual and small-group support to students with SEND, both in lessons and through planned interventions, to build confidence and progress. It is term-time only at 28.08 hours a week and sits within the academy's SEND team alongside teaching and pastoral staff. Visa sponsorship is not available, an enhanced DBS check is required, and the start date is January 2027.
What the job involves
- Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups
- Support students to access the curriculum and take part in lessons
- Assist with planned learning activities and targeted interventions
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Support students' academic, social and emotional development
- Work with teaching, SEND and pastoral colleagues
- Monitor students' progress and wellbeing and share relevant information
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
