Healthcare Assistant post at Hollies Care Home, a nursing home run by Optalis for Wokingham Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. The home provides residential and nursing care to older people with dementia and long-term health conditions. The work centres on physical and social care for residents with significant needs, promoting their independence, choice and dignity. Full and part time day and night shifts are on offer, and the home is adding staff after recently joining Optalis. An Enhanced DBS check with the adult barred list and proof of right to work are required.
What the job involves
- Provide physical and social care to residents, promoting their independence, choice, rights, privacy, dignity and equal opportunity
- Make residents with significant care needs feel safe and comfortable
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents and those important to them, sometimes in difficult circumstances
- Work across day and night shifts of 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am
- Adapt to a variety of tasks and a quickly changing schedule
- Work with colleagues as part of the home's team
