A newly created post reporting to the Deputy Director of HR & OD at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which runs community and mental health services. The core of the work is workforce planning, organisational design and leadership development, supporting senior leaders through service redesign and cultural change. It is set apart from a conventional HR business partner role by its strategic remit and its emphasis on inclusion and values-based leadership. A CIPD qualification is essential, or a commitment to work towards one.
What the job involves
- Lead workforce planning and address future workforce requirements and skills gaps
- Support workforce transformation, organisational design and service redesign programmes
- Develop talent management, succession planning and leadership development approaches
- Lead initiatives to improve engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and staff experience
- Support managers and leaders through organisational change and transformation
- Advise on complex workforce matters, employment legislation and people management practice
- Use workforce data and metrics to inform decisions and improvement plans
- Coach and influence leaders to build positive cultures and high-performing teams
- Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation
- Deliver people solutions that support organisational performance and service objectives
Qualifications
- Degree and professional HR qualification
- Specialist knowledge of one or more HR topics
- Masters-level training or equivalent experience
- Professional knowledge from a degree, ideally with experience
- CIPD qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it
Skills & knowledge
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills where there are barriers to understanding
- Analytical skills to interpret complex information and turn it into usable insight
- Track record of relationship management
Nice to have
- Chartered membership of the CIPD
- Relevant specialist qualifications, such as mediator or coach
