Lunchtime Supervisor post at Bloxwich Academy Primary, covering the midday break for pupils. The work is about helping pupils feel secure and involved, from encouraging healthy eating and running playground games to settling arguments. The role is term time only over 38 weeks, Monday to Friday, for 7.5 hours a day. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the post starts as soon as possible.
What the job involves
- Help pupils make the most of the lunch break, keeping them safe, included and supported
- Encourage pupils to try healthy meals
- Organise playground games and activities
- Help children resolve disagreements
- Offer reassurance to pupils who need it
- Act as a positive role model and build warm, respectful relationships with pupils
- Encourage good choices, social skills and friendships among pupils
Experience
- Previous experience of working with or caring for young children
Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of how to manage children's behaviour effectively
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Communicating well with colleagues and pupils
- Friendly, approachable and caring manner
