This Senior Leadership Team post at Ark Acton Academy puts a Vice Principal in charge of educational quality across the school, working alongside the Principal. The core of the work is shaping the curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and quality assurance so that pupils get consistently strong teaching, with leaders at every level supported to improve. Beyond that portfolio, the role covers line management of leaders, whole-school operational direction and deputising for the Principal. Start is ideally January or April 2027, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Hold strategic responsibility for the quality of education across the academy
- Lead teaching and learning, curriculum development, assessment and quality assurance
- Ensure leaders at all levels have the knowledge, skills and support to improve provision
- Use evidence, data and rigorous evaluation to set priorities and measure the impact of improvement on pupils
- Contribute to the academy's strategic direction, culture and operational leadership
- Line manage and develop leaders
- Support the Principal in delivering the academy's improvement priorities
- Deputise for the Principal when required
