HealthHero Integrated Care is recruiting an Urgent Care Assistant for its Integrated Urgent Care service across Wiltshire, Swindon and Bath and North East Somerset. The post pairs driving clinicians to patients' homes with reception work at treatment centres, keeping medication and consumables stock in order. It is part-time and permanent, with a rota of weekday evenings, weekends and overnight shifts. Applicants need a full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points and an enhanced DBS, as sponsorship is not offered.
What the job involves
- Drive clinicians to patients' homes safely and legally, following current driving regulations
- Act as first point of contact for patients, carers and relatives at treatment centres
- Support clinicians while on shift
- Communicate with patients in person and by phone, including comfort and welfare checks
- Maintain stock levels of medication and consumables using computer systems
- Record accurately all medications and consumables used on shift
- Carry out basic vehicle checks at the start and end of shifts, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, fuelled and equipped
- Replenish car stock at the end of each shift
- Check stock rotation and expiry dates on weekly deliveries of medications and consumables
- Keep the treatment centre clean and tidy
- Move and carry emergency equipment and deliver CPR at floor level when required
- Provide non-clinical support to clinicians and patients using the NHS 111 and GP Out of Hours service
