What the job involves
- Answer and route all incoming internal and external calls to the correct extension, politely and efficiently
- Act as the emergency contact point for cardiac, fire and other emergencies, and activate routine emergency tests and procedures
- Carry out emergency procedures for cardiac arrest, fire and major incidents, keeping records to standing instructions
- Keep information current, including telephone numbers, on-call lists, daily on-call sheets, new positions and message books
- Report faults that may affect the running of the department to the Team Leader
- Handle and store data in full compliance with information governance principles
- Manage the allocation and return of keys in and out of the department
- Attend mandatory training and complete emergency refresher and online switchboard training
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent
Experience
- NHS and/or private sector experience in facilities and/or contracts
