A 10-PA substantive consultant post in the newly expanding infection service at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, part of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The work covers infection advice, inpatient consults, bacteraemia rounds, laboratory support, infection control and out-of-hours cover on a 1-in-4 rota. Special interests, less than full-time working and hybrid arrangements with most time on site are considered, with teaching for Peninsula Medical School. Applicants need specialist registration in medical microbiology, alone or with infectious diseases.

- Advice on investigation and management of infections
- Inpatient infectious diseases consults
- Bacteraemia and significant infection rounds
- Day-to-day support for the diagnostic laboratory
- IPAC and antimicrobial stewardship support
- Liaison with health protection teams
- Out-of-hours cover on a 1-in-4 rota

Qualifications
- Specialist register for infectious diseases or medical microbiology
- Within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at time of interview
