Bank work for NHS Professionals, placing registered nurses in the operating theatres of University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust on a flexible basis. Shifts are chosen through the staff bank, and fixed-term placements are also available. Applicants need NMC registration and at least six months' experience as a registered nurse in theatres.
What the job involves
- Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team
- Take part in assessing patient care needs and maintaining agreed standards of care
- Follow Codes of Professional Practice and deliver high quality care in the peri-operative environment
- Prepare and maintain sterile equipment
- Assist surgeons during operations
- Ensure patient safety throughout surgical procedures
