A fixed-term, term-time Teaching Assistant post in the SEND Support Hub, the resource provision at Hackney New Primary School, part of Compass Eko Trust. The work centres on targeted support and structured interventions that help pupils with special educational needs access learning, build independence and take part in school life, under the direction of teachers and the SENDCo. The role covers communication and interaction, cognition and learning, and social, emotional and mental health needs across 36.5 hours a week. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Support pupils with SEND in the SEND Support Hub to access learning, develop independence and reach their potential
- Provide targeted support and deliver structured interventions to pupils
- Promote positive engagement in school life for pupils with SEND
- Support learning, wellbeing and inclusion for pupils with a range of SEND
- Work with teachers, the SENDCo, school leaders and the wider SEND Provision Team to tailor support to pupils' needs
- Support pupils with communication and interaction, cognition and learning, and social, emotional and mental health needs
- Help pupils build confidence and take part fully in school life
