Permanent teaching assistant post at Ss John Fisher and Thomas More Catholic Primary School, run by Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust. Core work is supporting pupils in class under the teacher, including one-to-one support for a child and delivering programmes of work. Full-time at 35 hours a week, with classroom preparation and supervision of groups or occasionally whole classes. Enhanced DBS clearance is required, and the post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
What the job involves
- Work with groups of pupils under teacher supervision, delivering programmes of work and implementing ILPs
- Provide one-to-one support to a child
- Assist the teacher in keeping the classroom and outdoor environment safe
- Prepare the classroom for lessons, including display work, and clear up afterwards
- Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes in or outside the main teaching area
