This teaching post combines Science lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4 with a Head of Year role in the pastoral team at Ash Green School, one of the schools run by Creative Education Trust. The pastoral element focuses on attendance and student wellbeing alongside the subject teaching. The post is permanent, runs Monday to Friday over 32.5 hours, and starts in January 2027. Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
What the job involves
- Teach Science at Key Stage 3 and 4
- Make Science simple and accessible for all learners
- Plan the progression of subject skills within lessons and across sequences of lessons
- Evaluate the quality of pupils' progress using a range of evidence
- Provide Head of Year support within the pastoral team
- Encourage student attendance
- Support student wellbeing
- Build productive professional relationships with pupils and parents

Experience
- Successful experience of teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4
- Track record of providing high quality pastoral or academic support

- Ability to evaluate pupils' progress using a range of evidence
- Knowledge of effective strategies to improve attendance and behaviour
