Teaching Assistant post at St Leonard's Church of England Primary Academy, part of Blue Kite Academy Trust, on a temporary contract running to 31 August 2027. Mornings are spent supporting the class teacher and groups of children, with a dedicated 1:1 role for one pupil over lunch and afternoons. The post is full time across 38 weeks a year, with a shorter Friday, and it needs an enhanced DBS check. Visa sponsorship is not available, so candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
What the job involves
- Provide general classroom support to the class teacher and groups of children in the morning
- Give dedicated 1:1 support to a specific child at lunchtime and in the afternoon, helping them access learning and take part safely in routines and activities
- Contribute to the delivery and monitoring of interventions for individuals and small groups
- Support assessments and record evidence of learning
- Work with the teacher to create classroom displays and learning resources
- Build positive relationships with children as an approachable, caring and supportive role model
