  • Lead and coordinate national costing submissions, meeting national cost collection deadlines with Informatics, service managers and Finance
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of costing systems and lead new methodologies and digital solutions
  • Lead continuous improvement of service line reporting and patient-level costing, challenging complex source data
  • Establish costing steering and assurance groups to develop the use of costing information for productivity analysis
  • Ensure costing and service line data is rolled out and used across the Group for decision-making, cost improvement and national initiatives
  • Provide professional leadership to the Costing team, including line management, workforce planning, performance management and staff development
  • Represent the Group in regional and national costing networks and contribute to best practice
  • Support internal and external assurance reviews and keep data flows, processes and reporting resilient and fit for purpose
  • Build relationships with senior clinicians, managers and external stakeholders, and provide specialist training and advice
  • Improve the use of data and digital tools, including Power BI, to strengthen costing analysis and benchmarking

Qualifications

  • CCAB or CIMA qualification
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

  • Proven record of strong performance and development
  • Experience of managing staff, including objective-setting and training

Nice to have

  • HFMA membership
  • Acute NHS experience
  • Awareness of the current NHS agenda and challenges
  • Experience of management, cost and financial accounting in a large, complex organisation
  • Experience of working with external costing partners, system suppliers or benchmarking organisations
