This Activity Coordinator post sits within Cygnet St Augustine's, a 32-bed inpatient rehabilitation service for men with high support needs run by Cygnet Health Care. The role works alongside the Occupational Therapist to get patients involved in activities, keep their existing hobbies going and run structured therapy programmes. What sets it apart is a full-time rota that includes evenings and weekends, averaging 46.25 hours a week. An enhanced DBS check is required.
What the job involves
- Encourage patients to take part in a range of activities and keep up existing hobbies
- Plan and implement therapy programmes, obtaining the materials needed
- Contribute ideas and facilitate events and activities safely
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in supporting patient care
Qualifications
- Academically strong
Experience
- Experience of working in healthcare, or a strong passion for it
Skills & knowledge
- Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
- Creative flair
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
