This Senior Staff Nurse post sits on the Rehab and Recovery ward at Priory Hospital Bristol. It centres on person-centred care for a defined patient group, care planning with patients and families, and supervising nursing and healthcare assistant staff, including as Nurse in Charge. The ward supports people with complex mental health needs towards a move home or into community services. Newly qualified and preceptorship nurses are not eligible, and sponsorship is not offered.
What the job involves
- Deliver person-centred nursing care to a defined group of patients
- Assess, plan, implement and review care plans with patients and families
- Support patient recovery through tailored treatment plans
- Work within a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Communicate with patients, colleagues and external stakeholders
- Supervise and support nursing and healthcare assistant staff
- Act as Nurse in Charge when required
- Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, medicines management and professional standards
- Support the development of junior staff and student nurses
- Maintain own professional development and adherence to the NMC Code and organisational policies
What’s required
Registration & licences
- Registered Adult Nurse
- Active NMC registration
Experience
- 6-12 months post-registration experience
- Completed preceptorship or equivalent programme
