A 12-month specialty registrar post in the oral and maxillofacial surgery service at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, based mainly at Northwick Park Hospital. The work centres on emergency and elective patients in oral and maxillofacial surgery and head and neck, alongside other trainees and consultants, with a share of the second on-call rota. The team is busy and fast-paced, and the weekly timetable can be shaped around the successful candidate's experience and the service's needs. Applicants need prior OMFS experience and GMC or GDC registration.
What the job involves
- Care for emergency and elective oral and maxillofacial surgery and head and neck patients
- Work alongside other trainee doctors and consultants
- Take part in the second on-call rota
- Support services across the London North West network as a member of the middle grade team
Qualifications
- BDS and MBBS or equivalent
- Fellowship in Dental Surgery, Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, or equivalent
Registration & licences
- Full registration with the GMC and/or GDC
Experience
- Demonstrable specialist interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Broad-based experience in general oral and maxillofacial surgery
Nice to have
- Postgraduate qualification such as MD or PhD
- MFDS, MJDF, IMRCS or MDS
- Broad knowledge across all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery
