A 23-week Band 6 locum post in specialist neurological rehabilitation, supplied by Military Medical Personnel for the Ministry of Defence at DMRC Stanford Hall. The work centres on highly specialist assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological and cognitive problems, alongside service development and specialist advice to colleagues and students. It is a Monday to Friday role of 37.5 hours, with some work possibly taking place in the community away from the main site. Military Medical Personnel cannot sponsor work visas, so candidates must already hold the right to work in the UK.
What the job involves
- Provide highly specialist assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological and cognitive problems within a consultant-led team
- Plan and prioritise own and departmental workload
- Organise and implement specialist neurological physiotherapy services
- Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures across the neurological service, including national standards and guidelines
- Give specialist neurological rehabilitation advice to physiotherapists, undergraduate students, multidisciplinary colleagues and external agencies
- Work autonomously within codes of practice and guidelines, including away from the main site in the community if required
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in physiotherapy
- Postgraduate training in neurological rehabilitation
Registration & licences
- Registered with the HCPC
Experience
- At least two years' postgraduate experience in neurological rehabilitation
Checks & eligibility
- Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults certification up to and including Level 3
- PVG membership or Access Northern Ireland certificate
- Right to work in the UK without restriction, as visa sponsorship is not available
- Satisfactory compliance requirements before placement
