This specialist midwifery post sits within maternity services at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and leads foetal surveillance across the service. The postholder leads CTG education and competency assessment, audits compliance with monitoring standards and supports incident learning to reduce variation in practice. Work is shared with maternity matrons, obstetric consultants and the education and governance teams. Visa sponsorship is not available for the post, and it requires a Registered Midwife with Band 6 experience.
What the job involves
- Provide clinical leadership and expert advice on foetal monitoring and surveillance
- Lead CTG education, competency assessment and multidisciplinary learning
- Undertake audit and monitoring of compliance with foetal surveillance standards
- Work closely with maternity matrons, obstetric consultants, education and governance teams
- Support incident review, learning and quality improvement relating to foetal monitoring
- Promote safe, consistent, evidence-based practice to improve outcomes for mothers and babies
Registration & licences
- Registered Midwife (NMC)
Experience
- Experience in all aspects of clinical midwifery
- Demonstrable experience at Band 6
Nice to have
- Managerial or leadership qualifications and/or experience
