Applicants need full GMC registration, at least six years as a plastic surgeon and FRCS (Plastic Surgery) or an equivalent qualification.
What the job involves
- Undertake outpatient dermatology skin procedures
- Take part in the skin multidisciplinary team as a core member
- Undertake one theatre session a month of skin surgery
- Support the dermatology service and medical students through training and continuity of service
- Contribute to service development, including Ockenden recommendations, QIPs, audit, guideline updates and teaching
- Support moving elective activity out of theatres and into outpatient settings, in line with GIRFT
- Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners
- Work effectively within a multi-professional team
- Agree and deliver a job plan within three months of starting, including 8.5 PAs of direct clinical care and 1.5 SPAs for full-time working
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCS
- FRCS (Plastic Surgery) or an equivalent qualification approved by the GMC
Registration & licences
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
Experience
- 12 years' post-qualification experience
- 6 years' experience as a plastic surgeon
