Spire Southampton Hospital needs an experienced cardiac physiologist for its cardiology department, booked through the temporary staffing bank. The work centres on imaging quality, quality control and radiation protection, with cover mainly for electrophysiology and ablation procedures, and some coronary angiography, PCI and TAVI later. The post suits someone wanting very flexible ad-hoc shifts, perhaps two or three a month. Candidates need a relevant degree and prior EP and ablation experience.
What the job involves
- Contribute to day-to-day management of imaging quality, quality control, radiation protection and administration
- Cover mainly electrophysiology and ablation procedures, with coronary angiography and PCI, and TAVI once competent
- Provide adjunctive imaging (IVUS and OCT) supporting PCI procedures, with full training given
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity, keeping up to date with corporate and local SOPs
- Act in line with the Society of Radiographers code of professional conduct
- Take ownership of statutory and mandatory training and complete courses within required timeframes
- Follow local radiation rules and help review and reinforce them with the wider team
- Ensure appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment for theatre clinical duties
Qualifications
- Degree in clinical physiology, cardiology or equivalent
Experience
- Experience in EP studies including ablation
Nice to have
- Experience with TAVI and MvTEER/TvTEER
