This Band 5 registered nurse post sits on the inpatient unit at St Wilfrid's Hospice, an independent charity supporting patients with life-limiting or terminal illness and their families. The work centres on palliative and end-of-life nursing, managing complex symptoms and building relationships with patients and their loved ones within a multidisciplinary team. Shifts are 11.75-hour long days or 7.5-hour short days, mainly daytime, with occasional nights and alternate weekends. Visa sponsorship is not offered, so candidates must already hold the right to work in the UK.
What the job involves
- Provide palliative and end-of-life nursing care to inpatients on the unit
- Deliver holistic nursing care tailored to each patient's needs, preferences and wishes
- Manage complex symptoms using clinical skills and judgement
- Build compassionate relationships with patients and their loved ones
- Work within a multidisciplinary team focused on quality of life, dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Registered staff nurse
- Relevant degree or diploma, or equivalent qualification

- Appropriate NMC registration (Part 1)

- NMC approved practice assessor or teaching/assessor qualification, or willingness to gain it
