Social worker

Social worker post at Priory Hospital Stockton Hall, a medium-secure hospital with nine wards caring for up to 112 male and female patients with varied diagnoses, including personality disorder and autism. The role centres on assessing patients, supporting tailored treatment plans, leading on safeguarding and keeping a clear focus on service users' rights within a multidisciplinary team. It is a part-time post of 19 hours a week, with flexibility available. Candidates need current Social Work England registration and a social work degree.

What the job involves

• Provide expertise and leadership in safeguarding
• Support the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans
• Ensure dignity, respect and high standards of care for patients
• Investigate, evaluate and learn from allegations to improve safety, dignity and compassion within the unit
• Keep a clear focus on the rights of service users and their families
• Work within the multidisciplinary team on prevention, early intervention, resilience and self-care, and reducing and delaying dependency

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work

Registration & licences

• Current registration with Social Work England

Experience

• Completion of ASYE or equivalent post-qualifying experience
• Experience managing a caseload independently
• Experience of assessments, risk management, safeguarding enquiries and care planning
• Experience of working with multi-agency partners

Skills & knowledge

• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policy
• Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills
• Producing professional reports and maintaining accurate records
• Managing complex cases under appropriate supervision

Checks & eligibility

• Successful DBS or equivalent disclosure at an appropriate level

Nice to have

• Access to a vehicle or ability to drive, recommended due to the location of the service
