The Arbib Education Trust is recruiting a Museum Learning Manager to lead museum-based learning in one of its academies, working closely with the Head of Museum Learning. The work centres on designing and running museum activities for pupils and staff, curating exhibitions, managing volunteers and caring for the Trust's handling collection. It stands out for drawing on the Trust's own collections across a group of schools in a growing multi-academy trust. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Lead the design, delivery and daily management of Museum Learning activities in one academy
- Use the Trust's collections to inspire curiosity and enrich learning across academies
- Help students and staff make meaningful connections with museum objects
- Work in consultation with teachers, children and young people
- Manage projects and deliver workshops
- Curate exhibitions
- Manage volunteers
- Support communication with external and internal stakeholders
- Take responsibility for the care, documentation and development of the handling collection
Experience
- Experience of a learning or education role in the museum sector or a related environment
Skills & knowledge
- Creativity combined with organisational skills
- Ability to work across the curriculum
