A fixed-term maternity cover post teaching art subjects within the Art and Creative Design department at The Gryphon School, running until December 2027. The work is teaching students across the full age and ability range, encouraging experimentation and creative development in photography, fine art or three-dimensional design. The department is large and well established, and specialists in any of those areas are welcome, as are early-career teachers. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the post starts in January 2027.
What the job involves
- Teach photography, art or art 3D to students across the full age and ability range
- Encourage experimentation, creativity, independence and exploration through practical, imaginative learning
- Combine traditional creative approaches with contemporary technologies and processes
- Support, challenge and inspire students through consistently high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop students' skills, confidence and understanding of the creative process
- Celebrate and promote high-quality teaching and learning
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities, exhibitions, competitions, trips and wider creative projects
- Contribute fully to the life of the school and the department
- Share ideas and learn from colleagues within the department and across the school

- Strong subject knowledge and genuine passion for photography, art and/or art 3D
