A full-time scrub role in the theatre team at Spire Claremont Hospital, a private hospital in Crosspool, Sheffield. The post centres on scrub support across spinal, gynaecology, urology, plastics and minor orthopaedic surgery, with input into patient care across the whole perioperative pathway. The hospital has three laminar flow theatres and a minor ops theatre, giving a varied surgical caseload for a practitioner who wants to widen their specialties. Candidates must already hold HCPC registration as an ODP or NMC registration as a registered nurse, with prior scrub experience.
What the job involves
- Provide scrub support across spinal, gynaecology, urology, plastics and minor orthopaedic surgery
- Assist in assessing, planning and delivering patient care across the perioperative pathway
- Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, infection prevention and clinical practice
- Support quality improvement by collecting, interpreting and sharing clinical information
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture focused on patient outcomes
- Support the development of knowledge, skills and best practice across the wider theatre team
What's required
Registration & licences
- Current HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner, or NMC registration as a registered nurse
Experience
- Previous scrub experience in a theatre environment
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to work independently and use sound clinical judgement
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety
- Willingness to develop skills across a range of surgical specialties
