Hospitality Host post at STEPS Rehabilitation, a residential centre for neurological and complex trauma rehabilitation. The work centres on welcoming clients, taking and relaying meal orders to the kitchen, preparing drinks and delivering meals to rooms, while keeping kitchen areas clean and stocked. Core hours run 7am to 7pm with some weekends, and the role works alongside the clinical team. Customer service and prior healthcare experience are needed to apply.
What the job involves
- Provide a warm, welcoming environment for clients, supporting their nutrition and hydration needs
- Take client orders, provide daily menus and relay orders to the kitchen team
- Make sure client meals are received and delivered to rooms where required
- Prepare hot and cold drinks for clients as required
- Liaise with clients, the chef and the clinical team on dietary requirements
- Liaise with the clinical team so client needs are met promptly
- Assist clients in preparing for their meals
- Clear down upstairs kitchen areas, wash up, and load and unload dishwashers
- Keep the kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, washing-up liquid, crockery and cutlery
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service, putting the client first
What’s required
Qualifications
- Maths and English GCSE grade C or equivalent
Experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience of working in healthcare
