Consultant Gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology in Sheffield

The One Health Group Gynaecology Team needs a consultant gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology to assess and operate on NHS patients referred through the e-Referral system. The work spans outreach clinics and independent sector hospitals, so travel is a core part of the role, alongside some remote working from various locations. Eligibility depends on holding a substantive NHS post or a locum post of over 12 months, with GMC and specialist register entry required.

What the job involves

• Assess NHS patients referred to One Health through the NHS e-Referral System
• Operate on NHS patients referred to One Health
• Hold clinic appointments across a number of outreach sites
• Carry out operations in independent sector hospitals
• Travel between outreach clinics and hospitals
• Obtain practising privileges at each hospital where procedures are undertaken
• Complete the One Health onboarding process and gain approval from the Clinical Governance Lead
• Support and grow the One Health Group Gynaecology Team

Qualifications

• Relevant sub-specialist qualifications, FRCS {orth}

Registration & licences

• GMC registration with no hearings or restrictions
• Entry on the specialist register

Experience

• Currently in a substantive NHS post or a long-term locum post of more than 12 months, or at least 3 years as a substantive NHS consultant before leaving the NHS
• Experience working in a similar role in a private or NHS setting

Skills & knowledge

• Strong written and verbal communication in English
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Professional outlook and an empathetic telephone manner
• Understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality
