One Health Group's growing anaesthetic team is recruiting a consultant anaesthetist to cover surgeons on NHS elective theatre lists. The post centres on anaesthesia for orthopaedic, spinal, general surgery, gynaecology and urology cases in independent sector hospitals. It is a travelling role with remote working from a head office base, and each hospital requires its own practising privileges. Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register with no licensing restrictions, and prior substantive NHS consultant experience is expected.
What the job involves
- Provide anaesthetic services to surgeons for NHS patients undergoing elective surgery
- Assess and operate on NHS patients referred via the NHS e-Referral System
- Cover orthopaedic, spinal, general surgery, gynaecology and urology theatre lists
- Work across multiple independent sector hospitals, travelling between sites
- Work remotely from various locations from a Sheffield head office base
- Complete One Health onboarding and obtain practising privileges at each hospital
- Support and grow the One Health Group Anaesthetics team
Qualifications
- Fellowship-trained consultant anaesthetist
Registration & licences
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register
- No licensing restrictions
- Practising privileges at each hospital where procedures are undertaken
Experience
- Substantive consultant experience within the NHS
- Experience in the relevant surgical specialities in a similar role, in NHS or private practice
- Previous experience working within the NHS
Skills & knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
Other
- Willingness to travel between hospital sites
