Elements Academy is recruiting a higher level teaching assistant to act as cover supervisor, covering lessons across key stages in the absence of class teachers. The work centres on planning, delivering and reviewing academic interventions for pupils with needs set out in a My Support Plan or EHCP, alongside practical support for learning and social skills. Candidates need an enhanced DBS check and must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Provide short-term cover across key stages and the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher
- Plan, deliver, monitor and review academic interventions for pupils' needs identified through baseline assessments and/or My Support Plan or EHCP
- Provide practical support for learning and the development of social skills
- Promote pupils' physical and emotional wellbeing
