What the job involves
- Collect council tax, business rates, overpaid housing benefit and corporate sundry debts in line with legislation, local policy and service strategy
- Prepare cases for legal proceedings and represent the council at court on debt collection and enforcement
- Support colleagues with complex recovery and enforcement issues
- Make sound, independent decisions so debts are recovered promptly through the most appropriate action
- Adapt to changing service demands
