This Operations role at National Highways is a senior network planning post focused on resilience, covering emergency and severe weather response. What the job involves
- Lead the development and assurance of resilience, emergency and severe weather response plans
- Analyse how well existing plans meet service level expectations and deliver improvement initiatives
- Manage risks and issues that affect delivery
- Advise and consult to minimise the impact on Operations in an emergency
- Develop and recommend best practice to improve processes in scope
- Lead the development of processes and procedures, reflecting best practice, intelligence and ad-hoc changes
- Liaise with regional Operations colleagues and external stakeholders, including local authorities and local resilience forums, to limit the impact of planned and unplanned events
- Manage Network Resilience funding, identifying schemes, working with service providers and prioritising by risk
What’s required
Experience
- Experience in contingency and business continuity planning
- Understanding of business objectives for resilience
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to implement crisis management procedures and policies
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Checks & eligibility
- Driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points, maintained during employment
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the Civil Contingency Act 2004
- Experience creating and developing response plans, including managing debriefs
