Two permanent posts in the South Worcestershire Design & Build Team, part of Worcestershire County Council's highways service. The work runs from investigating and planning resurfacing, patching and surface dressing schemes through to delivery on site, alongside inspections, traffic management, contractor liaison and responding to day-to-day and emergency highway issues. The role splits between office and site work, with hybrid working where possible, and suits someone with highways maintenance or civil engineering experience.
What the job involves
- Plan resurfacing and patching schemes from initial investigation through to delivery on site
- Deliver specialist programmes such as surface dressing
- Carry out site inspections
- Prepare traffic management plans
- Liaise with the term service contractor and other contractors
- Work with engineers and depot colleagues on maintenance schemes
- Respond to day-to-day highway maintenance issues
- Support emergency responses on the highway network
- Help deliver network improvement works
Experience
- Highways maintenance or civil engineering experience
