Plumpton College's catering team runs the main dining room and other outlets, and this senior post supports the day-to-day service. The work combines food safety, hygiene and stock checks with friendly service for students, staff and visitors. Event catering and cover across other outlets fill the week, on a seven-day rota with one or two weekends a month and early or late shifts. Applicants need a current Food Hygiene Certificate and an enhanced DBS check, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the main dining room and other catering outlets
- Delivering a friendly, high-quality service to students, staff and visitors
- Supervising cleanliness, food safety and hygiene standards across catering areas
- Monitoring cleaning records, food temperatures, stock control and portion control
- Supporting catering for meetings, events and functions, including some evenings and weekends
- Providing cover across other College catering outlets when required
- Undertaking manual handling duties as part of the role

- A catering qualification or relevant catering experience
Registration & licences
- A current Food Hygiene Certificate

- At least two years in a similar role
