This permanent part-time post places a School Crossing Patrol Warden at Meadow View Primary School, part of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's Corporate Services directorate. The role centres on managing traffic on Meadowhall Road in Kimberworth so pupils can cross safely at the start and end of the school day. It is term-time only and runs for just under six hours a week across two short sessions, with training provided. An enhanced DBS check and a medical assessment are required before appointment.
What the job involves
- Help pupils cross busy roads safely on the way to and from school
- Ensure children arrive at school safely and get home without worry
- Manage traffic on Meadowhall Road during the session times
- Work two sessions a day, 08:20 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 15:30
- Communicate effectively with children and drivers
- Engage with families and help create a friendly atmosphere for the school community
