This is a central team post at Nexus Multi Academy Trust, which runs 19 SEND and mainstream academies, reporting to the Executive Director of Quality Assurance and Improvement. The postholder supports, challenges and assures Headteachers and Executive Leaders across the Trust's schools, evaluating how the quality assurance framework affects leadership, governance, wellbeing and pupil outcomes. The role stands out for its SEND focus, its non-term-time contract and its remit to turn emerging research into practice across the Trust. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Provide support, challenge and assurance to Headteachers, Executive Leaders and Trust colleagues across the schools
- Evaluate the impact of the quality assurance and improvement framework on leadership, governance, staff wellbeing, pupil experience and outcomes
- Use evidence-informed practice, professional dialogue and robust evaluation to drive improvement
- Horizon-scan for emerging research, innovation and best practice
- Translate educational evidence into practical, sustainable improvement strategies
- Drive innovation across the Trust
What’s required
Experience
- Experience as a school leader
- Strong track record of school improvement
- Proven record of securing sustainable improvements in educational quality and outcomes
Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of what effective education looks like today
- Translating educational evidence into practical improvement strategies
- Reflective system leadership
- Understanding of servant leadership and appreciative enquiry
