Rotational Pharmacist

Rotational specialist pharmacist post in the pharmacy department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a ward-based service. The work centres on pharmaceutical care across many conditions, advising clinicians and joining MDT ward rounds. Rotation runs through medicine and surgery specialties and other pharmacy services, and the post can be offered at Band 6 with progression to Band 7. Candidates need a Master of Pharmacy and GPhC registration; prescribing training is provided if not already held.

What the job involves

• Work in the ward-based pharmacy service alongside the MDT and existing specialist pharmacists
• Take an active role in the pharmaceutical care of patients with a range of conditions
• Advise clinicians on medicines
• Take part in MDT ward rounds
• Prescribe medicines to ensure a seamless transfer of care, with training provided if not already qualified
• Rotate through medicine and surgery specialties and other pharmacy services
• Work both as part of a team and autonomously

• Current listing on the GPhC Pharmacist Register

Experience

• Significant experience of working in hospital pharmacy

• Oral and written communication skills
