This fixed-term Research Fellow post sits in the research group at the University of Southampton on an NSF-EPSRC project with Baylor University and the UK National Ion Beam Centre, running to May 2028 with a possible extra year. The work centres on magnesium alloys strengthened by dispersed oxide particles, covering microstructure characterisation and cryogenic, thermal-cycling and radiation testing. Its distinct focus is forming those oxide nanoparticles by friction-based processing, with scope to act as secondary supervisor for PhD and Master students.
