A fixed-term postdoctoral fellowship in the electrochemistry team led by Phil Bartlett, within the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, running to December 2028 with possible extension. The work centres on electrochemical characterisation of single source precursors and on tuning deposition to grow mono- and few-layer materials, then integrating that process into nanoscale electronic devices. It sits within the EPSRC-funded EXPRESS Programme Grant, a five-year interdisciplinary programme with Warwick focused on transition metal dichalcogenide semiconductors. Fit turns on experience in electrochemical and electrodeposition processes.
What the job involves
- Carry out detailed electrochemical characterisation of single source precursors
- Optimise deposition conditions to achieve high-quality mono- and few-layer materials
- Integrate the electrodeposition process with nanoscale electronic device architectures
- Research the electrochemistry of transition metal complexes in dry non-aqueous solvents and nanoscale deposition
- Work within the electrochemistry team led by Phil Bartlett
- Interact with colleagues across the wider EXPRESS consortium to meet the Programme's scientific goals
Experience
- Experience and expertise in electrochemical and electrodeposition processes for controlled nano/micro-scale growth of materials
Skills & knowledge
- Essential disciplinary research skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for collaborative working
- Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines
- Well-developed organisational skills
- Flexibility to work with colleagues across the wider consortium
