This permanent team leader post sits within the council's recycling and waste collection service, where the post-holder leads a crew of up to two. The work centres on running collection rounds, keeping the team safe, and feeding back on collections and problems through the in-cab device, with some bin loading. The working day may start early but usually finishes around 2pm, and bank holiday working is required. A current HGV Class 2 or LGV C licence with valid CPC is needed, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Lead a team of up to two crew members
- Complete collection rounds
- Be responsible for team health and safety
- Ensure safe systems of work and incident reporting are followed
- Give feedback on collections and issues using the in-cab device
- Assist with bin loading
- Motivate your team and work with other team leaders and crews to keep the service efficient
- Deal with residents politely and professionally and explain services confidently
Registration & licences
- Valid HGV Class 2 / LGV C driving licence
- Current CPC card

- Excellent customer service skills
- Sound health and safety knowledge of the industry
