Reception class teacher post in the EYFS team at Ark White City Primary Academy, a school that is growing and expanding its Reception provision. The core of the work is teaching early reading and phonics, alongside early writing and mathematics, balancing purposeful play with explicit, structured teaching. The role is built around Explorer Time and continuous provision, with a strong focus on preparing children for Year 1. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the post starts in January 2027.
What the job involves
- Deliver high-quality early reading and phonics teaching
- Develop children's early writing and mathematical understanding
- Plan a Reception environment that combines purposeful play, exploration and structured teaching
- Use Explorer Time and wider continuous provision to link taught knowledge with themes
- Judge when children need time to explore and when explicit teaching and practice are needed
- Prepare children for Year 1 with a clear focus on strong outcomes
- Work with EYFS colleagues and school leaders to strengthen Reception provision as the school grows
- Ensure every child leaves Reception confident, successful and ready for the next stage
