This Registered General Nurse post sits on Castle Ward, a 13-bed female psychiatric intensive care unit at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green. The ward takes emergency and crisis admissions, including referrals from acute and prison services, so the work centres on individual care planning and the Care Programme Approach. Hours are 37.5 a week on weekday day shifts, and the hospital sits in its own grounds in the Kent countryside. A current NMC PIN is required, and successful candidates must pass an enhanced DBS check.
What the job involves
- Co-ordinate, assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care programmes
- Ensure the Care Programme Approach requirements are met in a timely manner
- Report ill health among patients and request professional visits where necessary
- Complete and maintain individual care plans with patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals, in line with NMC guidelines
- Take part in planning, delivering and evaluating specific therapeutic interventions
