Spectrum Community Health CIC is recruiting a Pharmacy Dispenser into the Pharmacy Department at HMP Holme House, a prison healthcare service. The post supports safe, lawful medicines supply and supervises prisoners taking their medication, always within strict security rules. It suits people new to prison healthcare as well as community dispensers seeking a change, and sits within the wider healthcare team. Applicants need an NVQ level 2 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent experience, plus at least two years in community or hospital pharmacy.
What the job involves
- Supply medication to prisoners
- Supervise prisoners' administration of medication
- Support the delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmacy service
- Maintain a high level of security at all times
- Provide pharmacy services to service users within own competency
- Work as an integral member of the Healthcare Team
What's required
Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent experience
Experience
- At least 2 years' experience in community or hospital pharmacy
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Nice to have
- Knowledge of medicines management issues
- Experience of working in a prison environment or similar setting
