Pharmacy Assistant post in the pharmacy team at HMP Lewes, a category B/C male prison in Sussex, run by Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice team. The work centres on dispensary duties, stock management and labelling, plus receiving prescriptions from prison wings and collecting supplier orders. It is full time on a rota of 0730 to 1730 across a two-week cycle that includes weekends. Offers are subject to vetting and security checks, and a right to work in the UK is required.
What the job involves
- Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
- Work as an active member of the pharmaceutical team to deliver the pharmaceutical service
- Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
- Receive prescriptions and returns from wing-based clinical areas
- Collect supplier orders from the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns
- Take part in dispensing prescriptions
- Labelling, stock taking, checking and collections
What’s required
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, or working towards it
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
